The Cheetahs' Super 14 campaign has been dealt another injury blow.

Tighthead prop Kobus Calldo has been forced to return to South Africa from Australia.

The winless Cheetahs will face the Waratahs in the final match of their Australasian tour on Friday.

Calldo tore a calf muscle in the Cheetahs 29-20 defeat to the Brumbies.

Griquas prop Bees Roux has been flown out from Bloemfontein as emergency cover in the Cheetahs' front row. Roux arrived on Monday and will now have to acclimatise after the long flight to Australia.

The Cheetahs will now be keeping fingers crossed that Springbok prop CJ van der Linde, who recently returned from injury, can remain fit.

The team from the Free State have been hard hit by injuries this season with inspirational captain Juan Smith missing their entire overseas tour and the exciting Kabamba Floors struggling to get over a knee injury at the moment.

Reports from the Cheetahs camp have revealed that it will be another two to three weeks before Smith can start training again.
