Queensland Reds wing Digby Ioane was suspended for four matches on Monday after pleading guilty to a dangerous tackle on Crusaders centre Casey Laulala at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.

The Crusaders came from behind to win the match 27 -21 after the Reds had held the lead for much of the game.

The incident occurred in the 65th minute of the Super 14 match and earned Ioane a yellow card at the time.

Ioane pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended for four matches by SANZAR Judicial Officer Paul Tully. The decision means Ioane will miss Saturday's final round Super 14 match against the Waratahs.
