The Cheetahs suffered an early blow ahead of their final Super 14 match of the season against the Bulls with news that scrum-half Falie Oelschig will miss out due to a knee injury.

Oelschig hurt his knee in the Cheetahs' 33-14 loss to the Sharks last Saturday. As a result, Griquas number nine Tobie Botes is likely to play off the bench in Bloemfontein with Tewis de Bruyn getting a start.

Richardt Strauss is due to undergo a knee operation that will see him sidelined for up to five weeks. Another Griquas player in Hans van Dyk will occupy the reserve hooker berth in his place.
