Kept at Bay: Steamers captain Tanerau Latimer

Bay of Plenty skipper Tanerau Latimer will stay with the Steamers for another two Air New Zealand Cup seasons.

The 22-year-old loose forward has had an outstanding 2008 season with the Steamers as well as an undefeated campaign with the New Zealand Maori in the Pacific Nations Cup.

"It was very important for us to retain Tanerau as he not only is a fantastic leader on the field but also a great example in the community," Bay of Plenty Rugby Union interim chief executive Jeremy Curragh said.
