Key Man: Toulouse pivot to undergo scan with Heineken Cup final against Munster looming

Toulouse playmaker Jean-Baptiste Elissalde is to undergo scans to determine the extent of the injury he sustained against London Irish last weekend.

Elissalde played the majority of the Heineken Cup semi-final match with his right knee in strapping, but that didn't stop him from scoring eleven of the French side's 21 points.

Those vital kicks ultimately proved the difference as Toulouse held on to defeat the spirited Exiles 21-15 to book a place in their fifth tournament final next month.

Initial reports suggested that the scrum-half/fly-half had sustained a meniscus injury, which is the two half-moon-shaped pieces of cartilage lying firmly on the shin bone.

However, Elissalde told AFP that the ligaments are intact, allaying concerns of a lengthy lay off.
