Stade Français have captured rugby league superstar Mark Gasnier from NRL side St. George Illawarra, according to Australian media on Monday.
The Kangaroo centre signs with the Top 14 giants in a high-profile move that finally quells endless speculation regarding his playing future.
Gasnier's transfer is expected to be officially announced on Tuesday with an escape clause in his five-year Dragons contract utilised.
The Origin player was previously linked with a code switch back in 2006 when the Australian Rugby Union craved his services. However, that failed to materialise as the Dragons retained their man with a last ditch big-money offer.
"I have a high opinion of him, I think he will make a great convert," said new coach Ewen McKenzie.
"Everyone says it's about the money, I don't actually believe it's the case. I actually think Mark's got a genuine interest.
"I'm not chasing guys here that don't want to play rugby. Mark Gasnier made it quite clear to me four years ago that he had a very strong interest in the game."
Gasnier's departure will be a massive blow to rugby league in Australia as he was to feature as one of the main promotion faces for the forthcoming League World Cup.
